I don't think the HomePod has any kind of time limit on music playback (assuming that your playlist or music library is long enough). Also and unfortunately, if seems like the HomePod has no sleep timer for music playback nor any way to limit playback to a certain length of time, nothing like 'Hey Siri, play music for thirty minutes.'

However, there have been a good number of reports that the HomePod will not play certain songs and given the latter it would seem possible that whenever the HomePod encounters such a song it will just stop the playback even if you've requested a playlist or music source that contains additional content. Also, it's certainly possible that there is a bug that just stops playback randomly and you're just seeing that on average each hour or two. It may even be a network error since if the HomePod can't connect to one of Apple's servers it would have no option other than to stop playback.
